Slovakia Income Tax 2026: Daň z Príjmu Brackets, Social Contributions, and Net Pay

June 2026 · 8 min read

Slovakia operates a near-flat income tax system with two rates: 19% up to a threshold and 25% above it. Combined with a €5,646 non-taxable base and employee social contributions of 13.4%, Slovakia offers a relatively predictable system for workers. This guide covers the full 2026 picture.

Income tax rates: 19% and 25%

Slovak income tax (daň z príjmov fyzických osôb) applies two rates:

Annual taxable income Rate
Up to €47,53719%
Above €47,53725%

Taxable income is gross salary minus social contributions minus the non-taxable base.

Non-taxable base (nezdaniteľná časť základu dane)

All Slovak taxpayers can deduct a basic non-taxable amount of €5,646.48 per year from their taxable income. This reduces the effective tax rate for all workers and eliminates income tax entirely for the lowest earners.

Employee social contributions: 13.4%
