Lithuania Income Tax 2026: GPM Rates, VSD/PSD, and Net Salary

June 2026 · 8 min read

Lithuania taxes employment income through a two-rate system: a standard 20% rate for most workers and a higher 32% rate for high earners. Social contributions (VSD and PSD) are substantial at 19.5% of gross salary, but a non-taxable income amount (NPD) helps reduce the burden for lower earners. This guide explains the full Lithuanian system for 2026.

Income tax rates: 20% and 32% (GPM)

Lithuania's personal income tax is called Gyventojų Pajamų Mokestis (GPM):

Annual taxable income GPM rate

Above €101,09432%

The non-taxable income amount (NPD)

Lithuania provides a non-taxable monthly allowance (NPD) to reduce the tax burden on lower earners. For 2026:

  • For income up to €20,200/year: full NPD of €7,500/year applies
  • For income between €20,200 and €56,000: the NPD phases out proportionally
  • For income above €56,000: no NPD

Social contributions: 19.5%

Lithuanian employees pay two mandatory contributions:
